Stand-alone Employment Practices Liability Insurance
Claims arising from wrongful employment practices have increased in frequency and can be extremely costly to defend, particularly when you also factor in the potential damage to the brand and reputation of the employer. As a complement to our existing product lines, ENCON offers a stand-alone Employment Practices Liability (EPL) policy, which features broad coverage, in an easy-to-understand policy wording. The policy was designed with straight-forward language on a suits in Canada only basis. However, ENCON can address the needs of companies with moderate US and foreign exposure by endorsing the policy to expand the coverage to a worldwide format.
Eligibility
The stand-alone EPL policy is designed for small, medium and large privately held companies who see the need for EPL coverage in the absence of D&O coverage, and for publicly traded companies who do not want their EPL coverage to be on the same policy as their D&O, so that their available limits for either coverage are not depleted. The following provides a sample of businesses that are eligible for stand-alone EPL insurance:
- Retail
- Professional services
- Technology
- Crown corporations
- Health care
