How to Report a Claim 


 

The E-notice of Claim service is available to ENCON's Professional Liability and Construction clients only. ENCON does not process claims for health, dental, disability or life insurance claims directly. Please click here for more information.

Report your claim as soon as possible.

Prompt notification is a policy requirement and is essential to our ability to provide you with early advice and ensure your rights and interests are properly protected.

To report a professional liability or construction claim or circumstances that could give rise to a claim, you have the following choices:

  • Report a claim online using our E-notice of Claim form
  • Report it via email at newclaims@encon.ca
  • Forward it by facsimile to 613-238-7180
  • Mail or courier it to:

  • Clients insured under ENCON’s Information Technology, Multimedia and Hardware Manufacturers program should initially report incidents of first party loss to our cyber breach coach by telephone at 844-772-9237.
  • Clients insured under ENCON’s Builders Risk and Environmental programs may take advantage of our After-hours Emergency Claims Service for reporting a claim.
  • Land Surveyors insured under the Professional Surveyors Canada program should fill out these two additional forms: Claim/Potential Claim Report and Preliminary Interview or Fact Sheet when reporting a claim to ENCON.

 Claims Reporting: What Should You Report and What Should the Report Contain?

For the following product, please note that claims are handled directly by the insurer and claims should be reported directly to them.

  • Property and Crime insurance
    Please call AVIVA’s 24-hour Claims Care Centre at 1-866-MY-AVIVA (692-8482) to speak with an AVIVA Claims Advisor. For more information on Aviva’s claims handling, please visit their website.
  • Commercial Umbrella Liability
    Please call AVIVA’s 24-hour Claims Care Centre at 1-866-MY-AVIVA (692-8482) to speak with an AVIVA Claims Advisor. For more information on Aviva’s claims handling, please visit their website.
  • CyberPro Stand-alone Insurance
    Please contact the legal counsel specified in the policy wording. In the event of a breach, policyholders can contact CyberScout’s 24-hour Breach Hotline at 1-800-493-0943, or via email at breach@cyberscout.com.

If you are unsure whether the situation facing you constitutes a claim or a circumstance that could give rise to a claim, we recommend that you always err on the side of caution and report the situation to us.
